TWITTER:

I'm not going to beat about the bush. I haven't a clue what this Twitter thingumybob is - but there was an interesting article about it in The Daily Telegraph and, what's more, it offers a 'link'; so I thought I would give it a go..................

For those who are interested in this sort of thing, having resisted for a while (he does, after all, have his own weblog) , my elder son now Twitters .

It's about four months since I 'signed-up' to Twitter and, I have to say, it was quite interesting to start off with and especially intriguing to be able to follow the day-to-day activities of some well-known personalities - even those with egos somewhat out of proportion with their actual achievements. I also enjoyed reading about out-of-the-ordinary experiences of so-called 'ordinary' twitterers (burlesque, or motor-cycle racing, for example). However, I'm sorry to say that I'm at a complete loss to see any point whatsoever in being subjected to the minutiae (including photos) of what some twits (and their pets) do or eat and drink during their boring and (dare I say?) self-obsessed lives. So, although I might pop in from time to time - and recognising that many won't give a fig whether I do or not - I would prefer not to become addicted to the phenomenon. Good luck, however, to those who are comfortable in the environment; I wish them well.
